Social media revolves around sharing. And the first thing we’re able to share is the information we post on our website or blogs. However, you’ll find that however great content you may have, for some reason it still fails. Why is that?
There are many reasons exceptional content fail in social media. I’d like to share the three reasons I have in mind. Please don’t hesitate to add your ideas at the comments section at the bottom.
It could be your headline. People will usually look through the headline first. Most of the time, if the title isn’t appealing ort interesting, they don’t read it altogether. Write an original and compelling title that calls out to the reader’s attention.
It could be the audience you’re targeting. If you’re writing with no idea who you want to specifically reach out to, how can you appeal to them? You may be writing about topics that your target readers don’t like without even knowing it. Understand which part of the demographic you’d like to target and write something they’re interested in.
It could be the time you’re posting your entries. Nobody will have an idea that you just posted the best content of your life if you published it at a time when everybody is sleeping. Even if they have an RSS feed to collect it, it may get buried under new posts that come out in the morning. Find out where most of your readers hail from and try to post at a time relevant to theirs.
What other reasons can you think of?
