Do you remember how easy it was to separate people into groups? The popular kids versus the geeky and nerd group. If we’re going to relate it to the social media world we all co-habit, they’re going to be divided into the cool people and the Internet marketing people.
Who are the cool kids?
You can say that they’re always part of the conversation. They’re always “in the scene” But not all of the cool kids are cashing out from their popularity. Some are living the sweet life, some are simply working decent jobs, while some are plain broke.
Who are the Internet Marketing (IM) people?
They’re the people who work hard during the day so they can party hard and earn while they sleep. Then again, like the cool kids, some Internet marking people are raking in loads of cash, some are living decently, while some are broke because they got caught blackhatting their way to profit or they invested on magic tactics that don’t really work.
What do they have in common?
They both think that they couldn’t possibly learning anything from the other. Cool kids think that IM people are dorks that black hat their way around to earning money. Internet marketers, on the other hand, think that the Cool Kids are a broke bunch of snobs.
But if you look closely into it, these groups aren’t that different. They may have different goals that they pursue, but they both go about it with as much enthusiasm as the other. So why not work on merging both groups together.
I’d like to see if we can come up with ways to merge the best of what the “Cool kids” have to offer with what the “Internet Marketing crowd” can bring to the table. Let’s get the ball rolling on the comments section, shall we?
