Twitter, the newest micro-blogging platform is gaining thousands of users everyday. The Twitter Elites, from Pete Cashmore to Jack Dorsey, are counting thousands of followers and still gaining more. But this is not the spotlight of my post. Those guys already have enough attention and every Tweep wants to be like them. Now, if you are using Grader, you are probably familiar with the Twitter Elite ranking system. The grade is being computed based on a number of parameters to determine your rank. Twitter is a numbers game, the more followers you have, the more someone will answer you every time you ask a questions or ask for help or just need an opinion.
The Philippines, one of the smallest country in the world is considered as the rock star of Friendster and one of the largest population in social networking sites. Why? The regular internet and computer user in the Philippines can setup his/her own website in minutes and are pretty much tech savvy. Whatever is new out there and satisfies the Pinoy taste, it will be conquered. It will be hard for internet marketers to penetrate conversion since majority of internet savvy Filipinos are familiar with methods that marketers are using thus, they’ll just ignore it or put nonsense emails in the Junk folder. We do things differently here. So, enough of bragging about the internet savvy Pinoy. Here are our Twitter Elites as of February 21, 2009.
