A lot of you may have noticed that I skipped 2 weeks from writing articles. No, I’m not slacking off. Wouldn’t it be nice if I spent those 14 days on the beach without any of my gadgets and Internet connection? Unfortunately, no. I’m so tied up with 3 projects right now, another one about to be finalize, and all of them involve a lot of coding. The biggest pain I have right now is database optimization and performance tuning but I love it!
Those 14 days of continuous thinking ended up with me speaking at WordCamp Philippines 2010 which was held at the College of St. Benilde last Oct. 2, 2010. And yes, Matt Mullenweg was there to grace the event.
It was my first time to speak in a WordCamp event and it was a great experience to be with WordPress users. My good friend, Misty Belardo, was also one of the speakers and we did share a lot of stuff to newfound online buddies.
My topic and Misty’s were almost in the same bracket. We talked about Social Media and WordPress and how to make them work together. I noticed that there are still people who have a different understanding of social media but we’re not going to do a discussion of that one here.
So, I would like to thank the following:
Andrew Dela Serna of Avatar Media and his crew for inviting me to speak at WordCamp Philippines 2010. You guys did a wonderful job in organizing the event.
Acquaintances from the breakout and plenary session. I will not enumerate all of you guys here.
Old blogger friends who I finally met after years of just saying yada yada yada online. Meeting in person is so fun!
And to Matt Mullenweg, who I met several times but this was the only time that I was able to talk to him. Dude, I really wish I had your problems LOL!
We were not able to attend the party after but hope you guys had a wonderful time. To all volunteers and organizer, KUDOS!
