It’s one thing to have your brand start off with a positive online presence; it’s another thing to keep it that way. Just because people like your company now, doesn’t mean that you can slack off and expect your follower’s opinion of the company to stay the same.
Consistency is something many of us overlook or don’t maintain. We tend to believe that our image will always remain the same. But it doesn’t. Like many things, online or offline, we need to keep a strategy in place to sustain positive things we have started.
Now, how to do that?
When I started off in social media, I too had the same question. But as I went along, I picked up a few tips here and there to help me keep my online presence, shall we say, a good one. Let me share those tips with you.
You best start off by keeping tabs of everything that’s being said about you – good and bad alike. This will help you determine which of your actions work and which ones don’t. That way, you can keep the good feedback and work on eliminating the bad comments.
Make it a habit to connect with your viewers. Reach out to them. It can be something as simple as showing your appreciation for the praise you got from them, or offering an apology to people who’ve encountered problems with your product. This shows your followers that you value what they say.
Urge people to share their thoughts. If they have anything good to say about the brand, encourage them to write about it and share it with friends or people in their network. Not only does this up your chances of gaining more customers or followers, but it also acts as free promotion for your business.
Of course, in return for the promotion you get from these people, you must also reciprocate by promoting them as well. You can feature their related post in your own blog to put their post in the spotlight. You can also use your Twitter account of Facebook page to promote their link. In any case, not only do you showcase your follower’s blog, but also their nice comment about your brand.
You can show thanks in many ways. Rewards are always good. It can be in the form of a coupon or even just inviting them over to a cup of coffee will do. The important thing is you find a way to show people that you appreciate the good word they put in for you.
Turn fans into evangelists. You’re bound to find a handful of people who really, REALLY love your products or services. Letting them have first dibs on writing about future product releases or promotions. Their love for your brand will make them more fervent advocates for your products that you could ever know.
That’s pretty much it for me. Have you got any other suggestions or ideas? Do share them over at the comments section. I’d love to hear from you.
