Facebook’s a very popular social networking sites. Its millions after millions of users all agree that it’s a really great place to hang out at. Businesses are all taking advantage of this fact and are digging more and more into doing business in it.
If you had asked, like, days ago, you’d probably get responses from people saying that it’s more feasible to do business over at LinkedIn because it’s a social network for professionals. But that just isn’t the case anymore. Not only does the wide audience base make Facebook a good place to do business in, but there are actually applications in the popular social networking site that large and small-scale companies can use for doing business.
What are these applications? Here are seven great and useful examples:
Let’s start off with self promotion. Be it a personal or a corporate brand, there’s a Facebook app that can help you do this on the site. My BusinessBlinkWeb is a great example of such an application as it allows you to make a promotional widget for your business which other uses can add to their profiles. Even Facebook’s default Posted Items app can work to your advantage as you can use it to share articles about you or the company that you’ve found on the web.
For communications purposes, you’ve got appls like CalliFlower and Smart Phone that allow you to have conference calls or make phone-to-phone calls right at your Facebook profile.
In terms of networking, applications like Introductions and My LinkedIn Profile may work for you. Introductions helps make meeting new people easier and less awkward, while My LinkedIn Profile adds a badge with your basic LinkedIn profile information to your Facebook profile.
When it comes to collaborating with others on a project, apps like MyOffice helps make working together from afar easier. It allows for sharing documents and tasks to people included on the list. Pretty nifty if you keep a telecommute office.
There you go. A handful of business-friendly applications you can use on Facebook. Have you tried any other business-oriented applications on Facebook? Which ones are those and what are they for?
