Some people prefer to keep tabs of what they have written. Sort of like an archive of everything they’ve posted. It’s easy enough with blogs because blog sites automatically come with an archive function. But what of Twitter?
I know of a lot of people who’ve experienced problems finding old posts, especially if they have friends who are Tweet flooders. But then again, a good friend of mine shared something helpful, when it comes to downloading an archive of past Tweets.
The name of the application is Tweetscan. It’s more of like a search engine that digs through past Tweets. If you have a specific word that you’re looking for in your past entries, you enter the keyword on the first box on the top of the page, then enter your Twitter username on the 2nd box. It’ll list down all previous posts that match the query.
With Tweetscan, you can actually download past exchange with other Tweeters and take another look at old contacts that you might want to reconnect to. It’s pretty nifty, huh?
Tweetscan is currently operating through funding that comes from subscription fees they collect for people who’d like to get daily or weekly emails containing their archived posts. When you sign in, you get a free 14 day trial account. After that, you get the option to either subscribe or make a new account.
Summize, a search service relatively similar to that of Tweetscan’s, was recently acquired by Twitter and had been renamed as Twitter Search. It almost does the same thing, only this one is forever free for Tweeters to use.
