5 Painless Ways To Influence People

We’ve talked about the importance of getting an influential person on your side. It helps to have some sort of authority figure in the field talking about you in good light because it’ll draw your target market’s attention towards you. But they’re not the only ones who can do the influencing.

Just because they have tenure or authority, doesn’t mean that you can’t do anything to sway people to act on your favor. You, for the most part, will be doing all the work here. So instead of leaving all the swaying up to the influencer, why not do a little bit of the influencing yourself?

31 Days To Build A Better Blog

How can you sway people to take action when you’re not a thought leader? Here are some helpful tips:

Prioritize what you want your customers to do. If you’re trying to get people to buy a certain product, place the item up top where it is the first thing they would see. By doing so, you subtly trick your reader’s mind into thinking that the product placed at the top most part of the page is the best one you have.

Invoke the illusion of scarcity. How many times have you felt the need to buy something because it is a “limited time offer” or it has “limited stocks”? The reason why marketers use it is because it works. Again, this is about tricking the customer’s mind. Only in this case, you give them the illusion of exclusivity and increased value.

Give something back for free. It’s only normal for people to ask what they can get from availing a certain product or service. Sometimes, it’s not enough for you to offer quality service or a discount, you got to give them something free in return to get them to buy your product or get your service.

Talk to your readers directly. Let them know that you’re talking to them by addressing them directly. Using the word “you” in your content or sales copy is an effective way of doing so. This will give them a feeling that you are writing it especially for them.

Share user feedback. There’s no better way to sway potential customers into action than showing them what your other customers think of your product/service. Choose a real testimonial or review from one of your previous customers to give your target clients an idea of what they’re going to get if they choose to avail of your merchandise.

There are lots of other things you can do to convince people to act on your pitch. These are what came to my mind at the time being. If you have other tips to add or any thoughts you might want to share regarding this topic, please don’t hesitate to add them over at the comments section.
