5 Blogging Tips For Newbies

If there’s one thing I regret from getting into the blogging scene a little earlier than most people, it’s the fact that I didn’t have much help. I didn’t know much about blogging so I went with it by experimenting.

These days, however, start-up bloggers already have all the help they need on the Internet. With more and more blogger sharing their expertise in the field, blogging newbies relatively have it easy for them.

31 Days To Build A Better Blog

Well, moving on. Here are some of the advices I wish I had gotten when I was a budding blogger:

You are your blog. It should be something of an extension of who you are. It’s you, published online. Your thoughts, ideas, point of views, it’s all you. Don’t pretend to be someone you’re not because it’ll show.

Choose the best hosting provider. By the best, finding one that fits your budget but doesn’t sacrifice quality. You’re out to provide people with quality articles, so you don’t want to go with just any hosting provider.

Get to know your audience. This will ultimately help you decide what to write and whether they’d be interested in reading your post. If you don’t take the time to read through your readers, you’re most likely going to be rambling on and on, hoping something hits the target.

Always make a back-up copy of your blog. I had to learn this the hard way. When my blog crashed, everything went down with it. Keep an archive somewhere else: a dedicated external hard drive or a file hosting site, maybe?

Go out and socialize. You’re not the only blogger out there. Look for other blogs and mingle with them. Comment on their posts so that they’ll take a stab at visiting and commenting on your site too.

Of course it would be best if you could look for blogging experts you can ask for some advice from. They’ve been in the industry long enough to give you a hint or two on how to make blogging easier.

I've been blogging for 2 years but I still consider myself a newbie.

I did ask some experts for advice but I'm just getting the same tips as mentioned above. I still think that secrets are meant to be secrets still. So the best tips will need to be learned the hard way still.

Thanks for your blog! Just discovered it recently and already is in my bookmarks! :)

Hello Roch! Actually, there are no secrets in blogging. At the end of the day, compelling content determines the success of a blog. Creating compelling content is something you cannot just learn overnight. It takes hours and hours of writing and of course listening to the current trends.

In this field, expert or not, we are all newbies. There's always something new everyday.
